o Manage day-to-day air export and import operations,ensuring timely processing of documentation, and regulatory filings are compliant with local customs and aviation regulations.
o Monitor and manage file profitability, shipment milestones,
and operational KPIs timely.
o Ensure accurate and timely data entry in operational systems.
o Handle irregularities promptly, including damaged or delayed shipments, claims, and customer escalations.
o Develop and implement internal standard operating procedures to streamline communication channels and enhance efficiency, and productivity.
Carrier and Vendor Management
o Maintain close relationships with airlines, GSA, ground handling agents, and trucking vendors.
o Monitor the carrier and vendor’s performance and address potential service issues to ensure service reliability.
Customer Management
o Maintain close communication with customers regarding shipment milestone updates, problem resolution, and service improvement.
o Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
o Support business development teams in providing airfreight operational expertise when needed.
Compliance and Quality
o Ensure adherence to local and international airfreight regulations, including IATA and customs requirements.
o Monitor and enforce security procedures in line with C-TPAT and relevant aviation security standards.
o Implement and maintain effective quality control procedures.
o Oversee the preparation and accuracy of shipping documents, billing and records keeping
Team Leadership
o Lead, coach, and develop the airfreight operations team to ndrive productivity and service quality.
o Monitor workload allocation, training needs, and staff performance.
o Foster a collaborative and safety-focused working environment.
Financial Management
o Monitor P&L for the airfreight department to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
o Control operational costs
