We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research and Development (R&D) Manager specializing in sweets and desserts. The R&D Manager will lead the development of new products and improve existing ones, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and marketability standards. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with a deep understanding of culinary trends, food science, and consumer preferences. Key Responsibilities : Product Development: • Lead the creation and formulation of innovative sweet and dessert products from concept to launch. • Oversee the improvement of existing products to enhance taste, texture, shelf-life, and nutritional value. • Conduct sensory evaluations and consumer testing to refine product concepts. Project Management: • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain. • Develop project timelines, manage resources, and track progress. Research and Analysis: • Stay abreast of market trends, consumer preferences, and new ingredients/technologies. • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities and threats in the market. • Utilize scientific methods to solve formulation challenges and improve product quality. Compliance and Safety: • Ensure all products comply with food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. • Maintain thorough documentation of formulations, processes, and testing results. • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to address any product issues and ensure quality control. Team Leadership: • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of food scientists and technologists. • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment. • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Chemistry, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in R&D within the food industry, specifically in sweets and desserts.
Proven track record of successfully launching new products.
Strong knowledge of food science, ingredient functionality, and product development processes.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Proficiency in using R&D and sensory analysis tools.
Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
