Job Descriptions
•Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, understand competitor landscapes, and assess industry trends within the logistics sector, with a specific focus on dry port operations and related services.
•Identify target markets and customer segments to drive business unit growth.
•Develop and implement strategies to expand market share and achieve volume movement targets.
•Evaluate and propose cost-effective pricing structures for all services offered by the business unit, ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
•Develop, implement, and manage tariff structures specifically related to dry port requirements, including storage, handling, and other associated services, considering local regulations and market demand.
• Regularly review and adjust pricing and tariffs based on market conditions, operational costs, and strategic objectives.
•Develop and execute strategic plans for the business unit to optimize operational efficiency, enhance service quality, and achieve financial targets.
•Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Sales, Finance) to ensure seamless service delivery and cross-functional alignment.
•Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operational costs.
•Develop and implement a robust strategy for managing external contractors (e.g., trucking companies, handling agents, and maintenance providers), ensuring alignment with company objectives and service standards.
•Ensure all contractor activities adhere strictly to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, and quality guidelines.
•Conduct regular performance reviews of contractors and address any non-compliance or performance issues promptly.
•Negotiate and manage service level agreements (SLAs) with contractors to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
•Perform other tasks assigned COO and support top management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in the logistics or supply chain industry, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or business development role.
- Demonstrable experience in market analysis, pricing strategy development, and tariff management, particularly within the context of dry port operations or similar logistics hubs.
- Proven track record of achieving market volume growth and increasing profitability.
- Strong understanding of operational processes within a logistics environment, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and transportation.
- Experience in managing third-party contractors and ensuring SOP compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable reports.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and experience with logistics management software (LMS) or ERP systems.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in English and Lao language (both written and spoken) is highly desirable.
