Job Descriptions
1. Welding Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, Spot Welding, and Laser Welding machines.
Diagnose and repair robotic welding systems (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, etc.) used in automotive production.
Identify and resolve issues related to weld quality, penetration, and consistency.
2. Welding Process Optimization
Monitor welding parameters and fine-tune settings to improve efficiency and quality.
Reduce welding defects such as porosity, spatter, cracks, and distortion.
Work with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems to optimize robotic welding operations.
3. Compliance & Safety
Ensure welding equipment meets IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AWS, and OSHA safety standards.
Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments for welding operations.
Train production staff on proper machine operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
4. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work with welding engineers, production teams, and quality control to improve welding efficiency.
Analyze machine downtime and implement Lean Manufacturing & TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) strategies.
Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) for welding-related failures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation, PLC programming, and robotic systems.
- Familiarity with resistance spot welding (RSW), MIG/TIG welding, and laser welding.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and welding specifications.
- Certifications such as AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), CSWIP, or Siemens PLC certification are a plus.
- Experience in automotive manufacturing and robotic welding maintenance.
