Job Descriptions
· Establish, document, and optimize casting parameters (temperature profiles, flask size, alloy mix, vacuum/centrifugal/metal injection settings).
· Lead DOE projects to reduce porosity, shrinkage, and mis-cast rates.
· Enforce compliance with alloy specifications, REACH/RoHS, RJC, and internal QMS.
· Evaluate new designs for castability and recommend gate/runner changes.
· Partner with Design & PD teams to deliver first-time-right pilot lots.
· Mentor technicians and operators on best practices, safety, and defect recognition
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 3 + years running investment-casting or lost-wax processes (jewelry, dental, aerospace, or precision casting sectors)
- Solid knowledge of precious- and base-metal alloys (silver, gold, brass, bronze, stainless)
- Hands-on mindset, comfortable on the shop floor
- Continuous-improvement orientation (Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt a plus)
