Functional responsibilities
•Develop and improve material flow systems in the manufacturing process, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and transportation of materials within the plant.
•Analyze material handling processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
•Plan, design, and implement material handling systems that ensure seamless material movement, minimizing downtime and improving operational efficiency.
•Develop layouts for workstations, storage areas, and transportation routes to ensure optimal material flow and efficient use of space.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop packaging solutions that reduce material waste, enhance product safety, and meet transportation requirements.
•Analyze and improve packaging designs to ensure compatibility with material handling systems and processes.
•Identify and lead initiatives for continuous improvement in material flow processes, focusing on reducing cycle times, minimizing waste, and increasing productivity.
•Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in material flow and implement corrective actions.
•Work closely with the Manufacturing, Planning, and Logistics (MP&L) teams to coordinate material flow activities and align them with production schedules and requirements.
•Support MP&L in managing inventory levels, optimizing material consumption, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to production lines.
•Collect and analyze data on material flow performance, presenting findings to management and recommending improvements.
