Job Descriptions
The VFX artist will work primarily in Unity to enhance the game experience and bring various art assets to life. A general 3D skillset is required, as well as the ability to paint in Photoshop. This is a project-centred role. Responsibilities may be renegotiated for subsequent projects. Role / Responsibilities Create Real Time VFX and UI VFX for mobile games using primarily the Unity engine Style required for the current project is realistic / cinematic Implementing VFX to complement UI and existing game assets Collaborate with artists, game designers, and programmers on the look and function of VFX Optimise effects to ensure acceptable FPS and stable gaming experience Ensure stylistic consistency Respond effectively to feedback. Edit requests should be seen as design challenges Set and meet deadlines that complement the project’s progress Use personal experience to assist with other development tasks
Qualifications
  1. A portfolio and CV clearly showing 1-3 years of experience in the games industry, in a similar role
  2. Advanced knowledge of Unity and at least 1 industry standard 3D software (preferably Blender)
  3. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and After Effects
  4. Intermediate knowledge of Unity-compatible 2D animation software (preferably Spine)
  5. Knowledge of animation fundamentals like clarity, timing, and shape language, and apply them to VFX
  6. Able to create assets and materials within Unity, that are optimised for mobile
  7. Able to create prefabs using URP shaders and particle system
  8. Working experience with producing 3D VFX animations (in Unity)
  9. Able to produce 2D VFX animations (in Spine / Unity)
  10. Able to rig and model 3D VFX assets
  11. Able to work both collaboratively and independently
  12. Excellent attention to detail
  13. Be able to communicate effectively in written English
  14. Desired Abilities / Qualifications
  15. Familiarity with character animation in 2D animation software like Spine and Live2D
