Job Descriptions• Manage vendor scheduling and monitor delivery for components in the plant
• Manage activities from vendor schedulers reporting to this position
• Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained, vendor replenishment policies, and track vendor performance
• Ensure vendors' replenishment policies are appropriate and keep track of their performance
• Oversee distribution of supplies in the organization
• Collaborate with related managers to determine supply needs
• Coordinate and supervise receiving and warehousing procedures
• Maintain relationship and negotiate with vendors
• Resolve labour and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions
• Monitor material purchasing according to specifications, detailed records on procurement such as activity, materials quantity, specifications etc.
• Review and report inventory, material usage and efficiency
• Supervise, evaluate and coach subordinates
• Design and maintain department budgets
• Create strategic solutions to improve material flow at multiple levels
• Ensure prompt and accurate updating of the computer systems
• Develop and execute inventory cycle count process together with warehouse and accounting managers to assure high inventory accuracies
Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in related fields
- 2 to 4 years of experience in material scheduling, purchasing or logistics in a manufacturing environment
- Normal mechanical and analytical ability is a must
- In absence of a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study, this position requires an additional four years of related experience
- Must be able to analyse and interpret complex technical procedures, business periodicals, and journals as well as report preparations and procedure development
- Business transformation and/or process re-engineer/simplifications is a plus
- Experience with inventory forecasting, developing vendor schedules, implementing inventory reduction programs and reducing scheduling variances is preferred
- Must have demonstrable business management skills in manufacturing operations environment
- Must be technically savvy, and able to envision creative tools to gain business/operational improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required. Extended knowledge to ERPs & MRP (SAP)
- Good command of English language
- Strong communication skills, leadership skills, problem solving and negotiations skills
