Job Descriptions
Policy: Develop and implement safety and health policies and annual plans
Rules: Establish and enforce internal safety rules
Training & Guidance: Plan and provide safety training for employees
Accident Response: Handle accidents and prepare reports when incidents occur
Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and environmental laws in Thailand and other countries
ISO 45001: Develop and execute plans for obtaining ISO 45001 certification (scheduled for 2026)
Vendor Management: Confirm safety standards for internal operational vendors
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Age 35–45
- Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is often required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Specialized Training: Candidates may benefit from completing specialized training programs, such as OSHA 30-hour training, which provides essential knowledge for safety management.
- Professional Certifications: Obtaining certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) can significantly enhance qualifications and demonstrate expertise in safety management.
- Relevant Experience: Candidates typically need 10 years of experience in a safety-related role. This experience can include positions such as Safety Specialist, Safety Coordinator, or related roles within various industries.
- For a Manager-Safety & Health position, having ISO 45001 certification can significantly enhance a candidate's qualifications.
- A strong understanding of safety regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response planning is crucial.
- Effective leadership is necessary to oversee safety programs and ensure compliance across the organization. Strong communication skills are also essential for training staff and liaising with regulatory bodies.
- The ability to identify and address safety issues promptly is vital for maintaining a safe work environment.
