Bender-IS former Bender Information & Systemtechnolgy, Inc. is highly specialized in consultancy services to the utility industry and government agencies. Since 1993 in the market we just recently opened a subsidiary in Thailand to cover the ASEAN Region. We are considered to be one of the industry’s leading experts in Powerline Communication (BPL/PLC) and we were one of the pioneers of introducing BPL / PLC for AMR / AMI systems. Bender-IS has been engaged with a diverse set of clients in countries all over the world as they have explored the use of various telecommunication technologies for all kinds of Utility application mainly for grid automation and more recently the transition to smart grid infrastructures. We have delivered several projects of this nature across SCADA systems, Distribution Automation, Demand Site Management, Substation Control and Automation as clients have grappled with their evolution to Smart Grid concepts and architectures. In the last few years, Bender-IS has been an industry subject matter expert for Smart Grid and AMI and participated heavily in industry working groups across APAC, Europe and Latin America. We did chair the national HAN working group in Australia and had an active role in various national working groups for Smart Metering and Smart Grid. Bender-IS was also the main author of the Smart Grid Technology Action Plan prepared for the Major Economic Forum (MEF) of the G20. Since 2010 we are a member of CEN/CENELEC and ESMIG supporting the standardization workgroups for Smart Metering and Smart Grid technologies. In Thailand we are currently conducting a number of projects for agencies with growing demand for the next few years.
